Guest guest
Thanks Stacey, Beware of too much surgery. I believe that too much surgery, in my case, has contributed to a worsening of my symptoms. Not the surgeries themselves, but, rather the recovery period or down time if you will. Our muscles atrophy from disuse caused by our CMT. So 6 weeks or more in a cast only makes that situation worse. And we never seem to recover back to our level of strength we had just before the surgery. I learned all this the hard way, unfortunately. If at all possible, use bracing (AFOs, knee braces or KAFOs) before you try any more surgeries. I too, wobbled like a " wibble " but rarely fell down.LOL.
