Guest guest
hi guys i too needed a cane so i went to the mda here in Charlotte NC the pt looked at me had me to walk down the runway showed me that i needed to use the cane with my left side, so we tried and almost fell flat on my face she then looked at me and said that i would need to use a walker it was safer than the cane and she would fell better if i did so i tried it and its not that bad. i have to use it when ever me and my family so out and i have to walk a long way. i,m getting weaker in on my right side and sometime my feet are ice cold along with not being able to use my hands.i failed ssd and have a doctors apt on the 15th and another one with a shrink on the 16th why i don,t know but i,ll take my med records with me when i go.i have worked with the disabled all my life and i never in my wildest dreams thought it would happen so soon and yes it made me feel old and not wanted. i,m 58yrs old and have had this ever since i was about 3 years old was perfect until then been through all the pain and operations when i was a kid.now i can't hold a screw driver or even hold a cup.can,t button shirts and etc my hands really hurt at times along within my right angle. now i can prepare for whats down the line for me and my family.i,ll put up hand rails to help me get along i,m going to move forward not backward and hope for the best. my whole family have cmt along with there children.my girl does not have cmt.
