Hi

Yes we agree with Anil that vitamin-A is not bad. The tragedies

occur because of casual men behind the programme.We are not blaming

UNICEF or any other agency.

In Nagpur case the Rotary must understand that they were not

distributing candies. Hypervitaminosis-A has occured before also

repeatedly in India. See Sarang's post, he has given the links for

Assam incident where 30 children dies and >1000 were hospitalised.I

am still waiting for someone to research on Uttar Pradesh incident

and report.

The pain and anguish is that in spite of so many incidents why the

organisors do not learn? There must be some accountability for

causing the health problems and deaths to community. No one does it

intentionally but we need to learn from past experience, which does

not seem to be happening. Hence this effort.
