Guest guest
Hi Yes we agree with Anil that vitamin-A is not bad. The tragedies occur because of casual men behind the programme. We are not blaming UNICEF or any other agency. In Nagpur case the Rotary must understand that they were not distributing candies. Hypervitaminosis-A has occured before also repeatedly in India. See Sarang's post, he has given the links for Assam incident where 30 children dies and >1000 were hospitalised.I am still waiting for someone to research on Uttar Pradesh incident and report. The pain and anguish is that in spite of so many incidents why the organisors do not learn? There must be some accountability for causing the health problems and deaths to community. No one does it intentionally but we need to learn from past experience, which does not seem to be happening. Hence this effort.
