Hi, Some time back, students took the subject pharmacology in PG because they wanted light work. But today, students of top ranks join here because the subject has expanded broadly-not just because of interested in clinical pharm, but also because pharmacologists can help the community with rational use of drugs. As Dr Smita has already mentioned, newer sub-branches are coming up in Pharmacology like PEconomics, Pvigilance...which can be of use to the community. Horizons of pharmacology have widened.
