Guest guest
Dear Netrumians,If you have faced problem similar to mine of not receiving mail,I am sending a solution which I received from call centre:Hello Anupama, Thank you for writing to . I have read your email and understand your concern that you are unable to receive messages from your group "netrum " for the last 5 days. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. We have checked your account "anupama_acad@..." and it appears to be in full working order, however it was recently labeled as bouncing. Our servers are running normally at this time, so you should not be experiencing any difficulty. Your account "anupama_acad@..." was labeled "Bouncing" because your Internet Service Provider (ISP) returned messages sent to your account as undeliverable. These are called "bounced messages". Accounts are automatically labeled "Bouncing" after three consecutive days of undeliverable mail. Groups will cease attempts to deliver posts to a bouncing account until the account's status has been reset. For soft bounce status members, automatically sends out "probes" or "reset your account" messages. A soft bounce is a message returned due to a temporary delivery failure -- for example, a full mailbox. A hard bounce is a message returned to due to permanent delivery errors -- for example, an invalid email address. If a member is listed as a hard bounce, they should check with their email provider to make sure that their email account is working properly. There are a couple of ways that members can reset their bouncing status: -Groups automatically send reactivation requests to bouncing members, every three days. If the member replies to this notice, the account will be automatically reset and Groups will resume message delivery to the address. -Groups also have a passive reactivation procedure. This enables the resetting of an account's status without a reply to the reactivation request. If the reactivation message is not bounced back and the bouncing member does not reply within five days, the account will automatically be set to normal and Groups will resume message delivery to the address. You can also reset your account status on the site by following these steps: 1. Sign into by going to: http:// 2. Click on the "Manage" link next to My Groups. 3. An alert message will be displayed at the top of the page. Click on the "Go to My Email Preferences" link. Note: If you do not see an alert message then none of your accounts are bouncing. 4. Click on the "Unbounce" link next to the account that has a bouncing status. 5. A reactivation request will be sent to your bounced email address. Please check your email and follow the instructions in the message. includes a history of bounces, including the last bounced message, in the My Email Preferences page. To determine why your account was bouncing, click on the "Show History" link next to your account. stores the reason for the most recent bounced message in this section of your member profile. Please note that these error messages you see in your Profile Bounce Log are the return messages we receive from your email provider. These are not messages. Please contact your email provider for more information regarding the errors.
