Guest guest
Hello NetRUMians, First of all let me wish all of you Very Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will like to congratulate Dr.Gajjar sir who has initiated and now moderating this ever demanding topic, Topic Selection for Dissertation/ Thesis. Until now all our respected sir and madam have guided us through the subject .Its true that it is very critical and tedious job to find the topic and work through the same up to final result with one's own satisfaction. Intelligence, interest and income (in this context read as funds) are important pillar of good project. Thesis topic can be from i) clinical trial topics, ii) on table data interpretation work or iii) the animal studies. As Mira madam has already cleared about the Important qualities to be developed through the thesis work under proper leading guidance in the student. It is also helpful in the further placement in the industry I will like to know what is the perspective of these three different fields in achieving these goals. Practically speaking the thesis topic based on clinical trial involves many factors which should get amalgamate together to get the results. It starts from novel topic selection, availability of sample, investigations, funds, ethics committee approval, follow up of the patients and many more. But the output we get is colorful. Today when CAL has come into picture and ethics committee is also too stringent about the animal experiments what is the rationality behind conducting animal studies just to complete dissertation? Drug utilization studies, data interpretation studies can also be the fields to work but what are the positive and negative aspects associated with this work. Waiting for criticism and correction as it will be of help for the new students who are on the brink of exploration of the dissertation. Thank you, Regards Dr.Smita Mali. JR I, Pharmacology, G.M.C. Guest guest
Hello Madam, I am thankful to you Madam, as you have cleared my concepts about the principles behind the drug utilisation studies and its importance in the Rational Use of Medicine, obviously for which we all are involved in this Network. Being part of our syllabus we will be handlling and performing the animal experiments to gain psychomotor abilities. I still like to know the factors which should be considered while doing the clinical trial as a dissertation as in that case time management is a major factor. To start with topic, patient recruitment, intervention, investigations, follow up, results to be obtained and finally the written work. Thank you Madam for wishing me luck. Guest guest
Hello members, As the discussion is centered on drug utilisation studies I would also take previlage to opine. Actully Dr. Mira maadam has correctly defined the importance of drug utilisation studies. These studies should go up to correction of the underlying problem of in RUM. But the new generation of rationalist have produced some queries because... most of the studies conducted and published have only pointed out the problems only. They do the studies for the sake of publishing papers only. Most of them do not bother to do intervention and correct the problems. So is the problem with orientation of new generation pharmacologist about drug utilization studies. and here comes the role of senior teachers like dr. Mira madam and groups like netrum Regards dr.
