I'm not so sure. I feel awful after eating them.

The encyclopedia says it is due to lectins.

Mold is a potential issue with raspberries much more so than strawberries and

That is only part of the problem. Mold makes toxins called aflatoxins and those

do not go away just because the mold stops growing. Vinegar is also an avoid for

O (or maybe for O ns which is me).

Lemon juice is better for us and just as acidic - and it tastes better than

vinegar:-).

Maybe we need to rinse with lemon juice as soon as we get the berries and before

they get a chance for mold to grow.

No, just really busy with report cards and parent conferences at school.

So far this week I have managed to gain a pound back. I went walking on

Saturday with a friend for an hour, but had no exercise otherwise.

I've been eating sliced steak and romaine salad for lunch with plums,

nectarines or pluots for dessert. Snacks have been dried plums or figs with

walnuts or pecans. Dinners have been goat cheese mixed with pesto on a

really thin rye cracker.

I roasted some homegrown tomatoes on Sunday and am making chili with it. I

sauteed onion and garlic in olive oil with fresh and dried basil. Then I

put the tomatoes in the food processor to chop them up and added it to the

onion mixture. I cooked up some ground beef with chili powder and cumin and

added it to the tomato sauce. The only thing missing is the black beans.

Right now I don't want to take the time to cook them.

Good to hear from you Kate. This was my night off, so I'm scared to weigh

in the morning. On the New ABS Diet for Women, you eat whatever you want

for one meal a week. So.....I had meatloaf which proabably had bread crumbs

in it....not too horrible. But, I also ate potatoes, a roll and mixed

veggies. But that really bad thing was the pie for dessert. I won't always

eat avoids on my off night, but this was a dinner at our community center,

so it wasn't like there was a menu to choose from. :) I will have to try

roasting tomatoes in the oven at how hight for how long?

300 degrees for about 3 hours - less time if your tomatoes are small.

Hi ,

It's late Sat night and I had a nasty week. It turns out I have pleurisy again,

both sides this time, and it feels fine if you do nothing - I do mean

NOTHING!.....which means do not even breathe, as every breath hurts, and every

other movement hurts worse.

So writing emails has been a no-no.

I've had a remedy to help for 4 days now and am doing fraction better as you can

tell:-)

Having no immune system is getting old:-) I ned a new game.

> Eggs, banana and spelt toast for breakfast.

I am so deathly allergic to banana and yet everyone else is loving the things it

seems:-)

However I appreciate that one woman's banana is another woman's poison!

I tried to stick to my health plan as best I could while really ill, with much

care in food selection but zero exercise, even trying to breathe less.

Today I spent the day at a friend's house, she's so on board with me and my

eating needs.

We ate what we both love - fresh shrimp in butter and garlic. spinach, tomato

and yams, with red wine, followed by cocoa.

Yummy indeed. I split mine into two meals. And we then watched movies she had

recorded, till midnight.

Other days I've eaten fresh haddock, fresh herring, nacho-beef-rice bake,

Sausage, rice, vegetable mix,

various soups lean roast meat. Lots of nuts, some ice cream and some chocolate

and some scrambled egg breakfasts.

My new data:

HEALTH CHALLENGE PROGRESS

TO lose = 42 lbs and 5 inches

Week 1: weight same, waist went up half an inch.

Week 2: Weight down 5 lbs, waist back to start value.

FIve pounds was a nice surprise - but I think there is water weight involved as

I have less edema today. However I'll take it - less edema is good stuff :-)

Now if I can just shake the pleurisy...

Sounds good to me.

Must go, typing is hurting too much.

Good luck all.

Namaste,

Irene

I'm so sorry you have been in so much pain!!! But, I'm glad you have a

freind you could have so much fun with.

I watched the Texas team last night win their series. Now, if the Cardinals

win todays game, Texas and Missouri will play the World Series together.

Texas is really good!!! Not sure Missouri has much chance against them

They won their game last night 15:4. Unreal. Who knows?

Take it easy and get well, Irene.
