Hello Group,

I'm sorry to tell you of the death of my mother, Granny Bea.  She was 92

years old, had CMT, but still had a real zest for life until she got kidney

failure

2 months ago.  Then she refused to go to dialysis.  She said she had enough

since she could no long walk or use her hands.  She also could not swallow

well.  We don't know if that was CMT related. She loved food and eating puree

turned her off.

She live by herself until she was 89 years and started falling often, even

though she had AFOs and a walker. She said a few times she was sorry she gave

CMT to me.  But I always said it could have been something worse.  Our Dr.

told her not to say that because she also gave me life.

Anyway, I think she was a good example to CMT people because she was active

almost until the end, did a lot of volunteer work and was unusually a happy

person.

Joan

PS I had trouble sending this from my comcast address, So if you get 2 of

these, please forgive.

Joan
