Guest guest
, One of the books that is put out by MDA relates that some with CMT exhibit " marfans like symptoms " . Marfans syndrome is a genetic problem that manifests itself in growth related problems. Some are very tall, others like me have a long reach, some develop the breastbone deformity that I mentioned and nearsightedness. I can't remember the name of the book but it was one that could be ordered through the former CMT International. My support group in Greenville, Ohio, lent me a copy to read. I have since given it back. I think it's called " A Physicians Guide to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disorders " , but I'm not certain. The author makes a point that these symptoms are probably NOT " marfans " but the similarity is there and may be related to being affected by CMT during a growth spurt. The author didn't spend a lot of time on the subject and it may be just HIS theory, but it's there never the less. Each chapter in this book is written by a different author and expert in in the subject of the chapter. If any of you have this book please look this up and bail me out. I AM NOT CRAZY, AND I DID NOT MAKE THIS UP!LOL Jim Nash in West Liberty Ohio
