Guest guest
Luanne, It never fails to amaze me to see how often one family seems to get more than their share of problems heaped on them, one after the other. It's a misconception to think that the only pain from a kidney stone is caused by trying to pass it. I had pain in my left side for more than a year before mine was finally removed. Can't yours be removed by lithotripsy? I realize that all of them can't. The procedure isn't that bad but the stent afterwards caused problems for me. That's when I learned I have a lasix allergy. I was climbing the walls! And, ovarian cysts on top of all that? I take it they've ruled out possible malignancy? I didn't have cysts. I had nothing but that elevated CA 125. Nothing to biopsy and nothing to remove but my ovaries. I'm still a little irked about it but the doctor couldn't have known I was okay. I just learned this evening that our youngest son has a spot on one lung. I don't want to think about the possibilities. Not now. There are many things that can cause a spot. I had one and it was nothing. Just disappeared, but not until I went through a lung biopsy. He totally neglects his health, so at least this might be a wake-up call. Hang in there, Luanne. I know that the hardest part for you is what is going on with your kids, but it's not easy to deal with these things when you are sick yourself and you just want to curl up in bed. Take care, Geri
Guest guest
While on the subject, how do people feel about having their children tested for CMT. My husband is 52 and was recently diagnosed with CMT1A. He is just starting to feel the effects of the disease. We have 3 children (21, 17 and 13). I do not believe the 2 oldest have it, but I have a suspicion that our youngest does. At this point he is not showing any " signs " of it. But I can see when he walks and runs it reminds me of my husband. My son says he doesn't care either way about finding out if he has it. I would love to hear from others about the pros and cons of having him tested. Heidi
