"Praying For Someone’s Welfare"From Kindness: Making a Difference in People's Lives: Formulas, stories, and insightsBy Zelig Pliskin Printed with Permission of Shaar Press One of my students told me this story:I highly recommend my doctor to others.

Not only did he treat me in a way that reflected his sincere caring, he also prayed for me.

Following treatment, he wrote down the relevant facts so he would remember to include me in his prayers. You won’t always be able to solve everyone’s problems.

You can’t always figure out the best solution.

Your knowledge and resources might not enable you to meet all this person’s needs.

But you can always pray. When you pray for the welfare of another person, you are expressing your awareness that true power belongs to the One Above.

Your praying for another person is an expression of your feelings of concern and compassion.

Every time you pray for someone’s welfare, you are becoming a more spiritual person.Studies have shown that sick people who have people praying for them have a better and quicker rate of recuperation.

A well known spiritual leader frequently asks people – even those who seem far from being religious, – "Where your prayers ever answered?"

And most people reply that they have been. When you pray, you connect with the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.

This expands your entire consciousness.

So as you pray for another person, you greatly elevate yourself.• When you hear that someone is ill or injured, pray for his recovery.• When someone starts a new business or job, pray for his success.• Whenever people tell you about their problems or troubles, pray that they find a solution.• When a couple gets married, pray that their marriage will be successful.• And pray that you will successfully be able to help many people throughout your life. One of my students told me this story:I had a serious illness.

Fortunately I had an almost miraculous recovery.

What helped me the entire time, was knowledge that so many people were praying for me.

A few friends contacted as many people as they could in person and through email and asked them to pray for me.

I kept getting feedback that many hundreds of people prayed for my health.

It had an amazing effect on my emotional state throughout the entire experience.

I am grateful to each and every one of those individuals.
