Guest guest
Hi As we come to the end of the discussion on the declared deadline, I wish to convey that: Injudicious use of AMAs may lead to premature obliteration and demise of highly efficacious and life-saving AMAs. Evolution of new AMA involves prohibitive costs, which compounded by the new patent laws spell doom for general affordability in developing economies. Not many new AMAs are there on the horizon. While old may not always be gold, all new AMA are also not revolutionary. The AMA graveyard has many popular AMAs of yester years and yet the mortuary keeps getting the feed as a result of human follys. Evolution of microbial resistance due to irrational use of AMA continues to score over human endeavor to produce new AMAs. If the antibiotic era is not to be read in annals of history, let us become sensible to ensure that AMAs continue to subserve human health. Let not our callousness and inaction allow miniscule micros to triumph over macro mankind. Do not consider microbes to be stupid duds and bufoons like humans. They are so smart that we humans are dependent on their defence mechanisms to obtain the antibiotics. They are not dependent on us! Microbes' defence mechanisms are far more strategic than human war doctrines and logistics. We need to learn from them how to survive and survive well, in adversities. Cheers that we are surviving to discuss all this. If the AM scenerio does not improve, not many will. Let us all press for AM policy in our institutions, follow that up and sustain with efforts. There is no reason why we will not succeed. Others who have brought in the AM policy have, so will we. Thank you all for your participation in the discussion.I am honoured to have the posts from you. We will try to post a PPP on this subject on NetRUM. The whole July is full of discussions for you. Watch out next announcement. Vijay Moderator
