Hi Heidi,

What you describe is exactly what my symptoms were that made my general

practitioner send me to a neurologist for testing in the first place. Yes, it

is

your cmt.

I am not sure what type of cmt you have, but this is very normal for the

type I have. I am unsure what kind of cmt I have, but we sound similar. It

started in my feet and legs, and since childhood I have taken very painfull

cramps in my legs and feet, especially at night in bed. In the past few

years i have experiencing deteriation in my hands and been taking cramps

there as well, but not to the degree it is in my legs and feet.

Mine has progressed about the same Jenn. I'm not sure what type I am, but

mostly it has been in my feet and legs, but in the last year I have noticed

that my writing is deteriating and I have trouble opening lids off of such

things as a pickle jar. I think a warm bath/hot tub helps with the muscle

cramps. I try to do that especially if I've had a really hard day

physically. It's weird, my sister has MS and she can't take any kind of

heat, but for me it helps.
