Guest guest
Heidi, I am living on Methadone for degenerative disc's and I hate it. I have tried to come off it and tough it out but ended up in so much pain I could not even function around the house. It does give me the ability to do minor things (cook dinner, minor cleaning, etc. that I could not do without taking it. It stinks I don't feel like myself alot but I can do little things for my family. I am always looking for a miracle to relieve the pain. It does not really do much for the nerve pain in my legs though, and my Dr. has just prescribed Elavil? (I THINK THIS IS IT) to try and solve this problem. As for other relief I would not be able to attempt any without the Methadone. I just started to do T'ai Chi which I am hoping in the long run to enable me to stop Methadone as well as give me better balance and a form of exercise that I can do. My other hobbies unfortunately require my being outdoors and this is not such a good thing this time of year. I hope you never get to the point of needing pain meds they are no fun and I personally feel they drain the life out of you almost as much as living with the pain. Keep well.
