The American Academy of Neurology meeting was held in Honolulu, Hawaii,

March 29 to April 5, 2003. Ten original research papers were presented

on Charcot Marie Tooth disease. Topics included myelin protein and

mutations, vocal cord mutations in axonal CMT (Type 2), Mediterranean

and Costa Rican family studies, French Canadian studies with Ataxia,

deafness and CMT, axonal CMT and two papers on Type 1A.

Participants involved in this increased interest in CMT research

included those from Australia, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Quebec,

the United States, and the UK.
