Guest guest
Welcome and thanks so much for posting your introduction - I'm happy you have joined ! About the testing and types - there are still many types for which there isn't a DNA test - best indicator is the EMG/NCV test - although it can't pinpoint exact types either, other than 1 or 2. And yes, there are doctors who don't know much about CMT, even neurologists, so if you feel you need a 2nd opinion and want some testing, my suggestion is to find another doctor who is more knowledgeable. Sorry, I can't help you with your pregnancy question - no experience there, but we have alot of " Moms " in this group and I am certain they will jump in to share their experience. Dr. Parry had an answer in the CMT Today magazine about this regarding CMT1A for someone who wrote in about the subject. mentioned the CMT Today magazine as a good source for everything; you might want to give it a look. (and thanks for the feedback - and her staff are really turning out a five-star publication!) ~ Gretchen Need the most current medications 'alert'? Need to know more research news?
