Guest guest
Hello everyone, My name is Andersen and I am new to the group. I was " diagnosed " with CMT when I was 22. After a school mate of mine told me that I walked just like a girl she knew. It turns out that she had CMT and my school mate was very informative and set me off to research the diesease. I put diagnosed with quotes because I don't know what type I have and my family was not tested. I'm beginning to think that I should have gone to a different neurologist. I noticed my symptoms at age 15 after a bout with Mono. My symptoms this far have been comparitively mild and I have not seen much regression in the 12 years that I have been living with the disease. I seem to only be affected in the lower legs and this is demonstrated by loss of balance, a limp and very slow walking. I'm 27 years old and live in Oakville, Ontario (just outside Toronto) I am a high school teacher and I teach History, Law, Civics and Careers. I heard about this site from Gretchen who repsonded to a post of mine on a CMT website. I don't have any children as of yet and my first question to the group is: How can pregnancy affect the disease? Thanks,
