Guest guest
I find that I conserve energy if I wear my AFOs when driving long distances. It seems to help prevent the foot-drop.... that is my theory anyway. In town, I once had a very bad cramp in my right foot while driving with my AFOs. It was frightening, so I went home. The next day it happened again, so I loosened the velcro strap and stretched and got rid of the cramp. For now I'm avoiding the AFOs in town, but I do need to minimize 'mindless running around.' I make my kids plan activities around available rides and won't make extra trips to pick up items my kids have forgotten, etc. They are learning responsibility this way, and I'm saving wear and tear on my car, the environment, and my body!
