Guest guest
Dear ers, Please remember the purpose of - that is to share our PERSONAL EXPERIENCES with CMT. If you have experiences using cannabis for your CMT, then share it if you wish. But, please do not discuss its legal or political ramifications on the list, OK? Now, as most of you know, my background is full of addiction. Substance abuse was the way in which I dealt with my CMT. That one drink was just a start. Then Cannabis was merely a gateway for me. Almost 24 years later, I am still clean and sober and I am fully committed to stay that way until my dying day. Even if a neurologist or other MD told me to smoke or drink or snort or whatever, because it would be good for my CMT, there is NO WAY I WOULD. I committed myself many years ago to a life without substances, the going is merely one day at a time. At that time I also committed myself to taking care of ME and working with my medical professional team. Any pain I have had has either been helped by rest, ice, exercise, or when warranted (like in last year's back surgery) narcotics. And yes, even in sobriety, I have had to 'kick' prescription narcotics several times. My doctors are all keenly aware of my committments and uphold and respect my wishes. In my Advance Directive and DPAHC I have it plainly stated that should I be diagnosed with a terminal condition, I wish only to have enough pain medication to keep me comfortable until the angels pick me up. I didn't mean to get on a soapbox, but to wrap this up, let's try to stay on track by sharing our experience and keep the legal and political ramifications off the list. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. ~ Gretchen/Moderator Danita Saunders wrote: > I'm wondering > what the legal status of it is these days.
