I drive wearing AFOs. When I first got them I took them off to drive,

but that took too long. The important thing, I find, is being the

correct distance from the steering wheel. Also, practice in an empty

parking lot. I have trouble merging or going up steep hills, so there

are some routes I don't take.

P.s. I can't send mail to the CMT group from " Outlook Express " my Comcast

I wear AFOs that are fixed at the ankle. I agree, the important

thing is making sure you are the right distance away from the

steering wheel. I have had no problem driving. The only thing

I don't have is the " gun-it " reflex which is probably a good

thing anyway. I also am thankful for the cruise control and use

it whenever I go over 45 mph. It really gives my leg a chance

to rest.
