Hello!

Both my pinky and ring fingers fall asleep especially if I have my arms

resting on chair arms or etc. It is very frustrating! I try to watch what

I do with my arms when I am sitting...not sure what else to do.

,

The ulnar nerve can become entrapped at the elbow (called cubital tunnel

syndrome) and will cause what you are describing. CMT also affects the

ulnar nerve as well so you may have a combination of both problems. You may

want to consider making an appt. with a board certified orthopedic

specialist who deals only with the upper extremities. Speaking from

personal experience I had this same condition and had cubital tunnel

releases done on both elbows in 1999 and have not had any further pain or

numbness despite having CMT. If possible, try to keep from putting any

pressure on your elbows when you are sitting. Let you arms rest in your

lap.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, but no matter what my son is doing they fall asleep. I

know it must be a pain for this to happen everyday. I will tell

him to watch what he is doing with is arms and hands and see if

that helps. Thank you and good luck.
