I totally agree with Joan about the falling issue. I've had my

AFOs for 1 full year, and have never fallen since I got them!

I fell and stumbled constantly before I got them, even when I

used my cane. I will tell you, though, that if I'm ever

sitting on the floor (voluntarily) while wearing my AFOs,

getting up is nearly impossible. Remember, your ankles don't

bend in AFOs, so you can't really get your toes underneath you..

I usually need help from someone, or I crawl to the nearest

chair and slowly pry myself to a standing position.

My feet already don't bend from the fusions . I also crawel to the nearest

chair :)
