Guest guest
I would like to exchange information with anybody with this problem. I wear a plastic brace/splint (AFO) on my left leg. When " let go " my legs cross each other like a pair of scissors. I have hyper-extended knees that meet in the middle (like this X). High foot arches (pes cavus), walking is very difficult and slow even with a walking frame and with foot pain now a " no goer " . Muscle imbalance caused by nerve atrophy causes severe cramps and spasms and during the past couple of days; intolerable pain inside the instep of my right ( " good " ) foot when I lie down and to a lesser extent also inside my AFO-foot. Any suggestions? Neurologist, Physiotherapists and other medical specialists have not been very helpful. Baclofen will help with spasms in some cases. Neither Baclofen, Diclofenac nor apam (Valium) affects the pain. Valium and Morphine are not acceptable long-term solutions anyway. There may be certain combinations of that work. Zanaflex is not available here. Has anybody with this problem used surgery, KAFO braces or the like? I will be grateful for any suggestions
