Guest guest Posted October 22, 2010 Report Share Posted October 22, 2010 I looked through his pictures and boy does it look familiar except for the bars. His scar looks about the same length as mine and so do his rods. Mine do not bend like his shows-my spine does not bend because the rods will not let it. My rods are stainless steel and they do not bend. I have had mine since 1966 and no problems at all. It was nice looking at the pictures and knowing that I was there many years ago. I guess that a bit of flexibility is allowed with these. Thanks for sharing your story with me. Guest guest Posted October 23, 2010 Report Share Posted October 23, 2010 I got Transverse Myelitis in 2006 which paralyzed me and 3 years later I got scoliosis; which I have researched and found that T.M. is often followed later with scoliosis. No DRs. told me, as T.M. is so rare but one learns by researching on her own as she goes. Unfortunately, I found many things that way, AND oh how I WISH i lived near The Hopkins Center or Hospital. I probably would never have been paralyzed as they new quickly how to treat TRANSVERSE MYELITIS. The drs. tossed it back &  forth so many times that I do think I was given some steroids, then Christmas vacatons came & I was sent to a rehab. to try to get a paralyzed leg using p.t. to come back to life. Didn't work; only caused other leg to be paralyzed. I was furious. lIife has been hard for me for a long time but I always try to stay positive as much as possible cuz with T.M. you live in nerve pain daily and spasms and that is difficult. That's it. ________________________________ From: Tonni Brende <tbrende7@...> Scoliosis Treatment Sent: Fri, October 22, 2010 10:22:40 AM Subject: Re: Complete Spine Fusion  athan also has a twist beyond his curve so looks like they jsut missed hsi spine.
