Guest guest
, Why did you see a psychiatrist about physical pain? Lida in London Re: Sciatica I had the same type of surgery in 1992 at the age of 12. I don't remember the degree of my curves, but I don't think it was that high. I too have sciatica (in both legs) and low back pain due mainly to two herniated discs (L4/L5 and L5/S1), which initially started in 1996 due to my idiot doctor saying it was safe to go back to dance class. The pain got worse two years ago (mostly due to having to carry around a toddler), and is not getting better (actually getting worse). I've seen a physiatrist, who started me on some meds, sent me to PT, and tried selective nerve root blocks. I'm now seeing a pain management doctor, who put me on more meds, sent me to PT again, aquatic therapy, acupuncture, and trigger point injections. The meds help some, but not enough. The other treatments only provided small or short term pain level reduction. Are you seeing a doctor for your pain? Are you receiving any forms of treatment, such as those I listed above? Any relief? I too would be interested in hearing from any other individuals in a similar situation. I am looking for ideas going forward, since the future looks pretty bleak right now.
