Guest guest
Yes she has been seen since the diagnosis at the Mott's Children's Hospital (University of Michigan) in Ann Arbor. My EX-wife was involved in prep for her surgery and cancelled it a day or two prior. This act wasn't within her rights as I am the custodial parent but the hospital would not continue before it was worked out. Many court dates and lawyer fees later she now is trying Clear as a last ditch effort to avoid surgery. I DO NOT want my daughter to have to have this surgery, but according to her surgeon she could begin to lose lung capacity if it isn't delt with rather soon. She has been taken to another " holistic " guru in the past with no results. The hard thing is my daughter believes these people when they say they can help her. I really hope they do because I'm tired of her hopes of not needing surgery getting too high. My daughter says after Clear if there is no improvement she wants to have the surgery, but when she came home after her first week of Clear treatment she was all excited that they were helping her. I have x-rays scheduled following her return from Clear at UofM and I guess then we'll see. I hope it is working because I will not be happy if they let her down with false claims of improvement. They will hear from me (and probably my attorney) if they claim to have improved her curve and it's not true. Sorry for the long post I am just so sick of this whole thing. It could have/should have been taken care of a couple years ago and she would be recovered and back at it by now. ________________________________ From: " Buttonjo@... " (Clear Institute website quote) Any treatment that says surgery is " primarily a cosmetic procedure " is ignorant of scoliosis. Your wife is putty in their hands and they are playing the fear card. No one wants to have the surgery on their child, but I thank my parents a thousand time for having the courage to accept this head on. You are wasting your daughter's time and her spine is progressing after 50% at 16. Denial will not help your daughter's spine. Could you see a specialist in a large organization that will help you verify her prognosis. Is there a Shriner's Hospital near? Would Children's Hospital help document her medical need? Yes, a few of us needed a 2nd surgery due to the old techniques from the 60's and Harrington Rods. Those aren't used today by experienced speciailists and the anterior/posterior technique used today is far safer. Yes, she should take care of her spine after surgery staying away from jarring or risky activities, but that is do-able. Progressive scoliosis can not be cure by chiropractic methods The last sentence above should read, " Clear Institute Treatment simply transforms the spinal deformity into permanent spinal dysfunction that leads to chronic pain, disfigurement, or disability . " Your wife is in denial and seeks fake treatments to avoid the reality. Good luck with that. Guest guest
There's no way I'd have gone through that surgery for cosmetic purposes! I spent 13 years in pain and finally decided on the surgery. I'm not perfect, but the pain is better. Anyone who says what they say doesn't know anyone who suffers from scoliosis pain. ________________________________ From: " Buttonjo@...
