Guest guest
Dr. Farcy Dr. Errico Dr. Boachie All in NYC area. I've researched these docs and like them in order as I listed. But let me stress this...I'VE NEVER SEEN THEM! My insurance doesn't cover them. I've just read lots of things over the years, Papers, research, etc... I'm real sorry you're having all this pain. It's a bummer. I'm getting ready for revision too. I'm having a discogram Friday to find out how much further down I'll have to get fused. I know you're scared, but you're in the right spot for gathering understanding and support. xoxo's
Guest guest
Hi nanfash, This is a great site for general information. You might want to check out the Fiesty Flatback forum, / . There has been discussion about the various symptoms, coping with flatback, doctors and some of the questions to ask. Like here, there is a lot of support and most belong to more than one forum. Hope this helps. Llweyn in BC salvage surgery I had 12 vertabrae fused and 2 harrington rods put in in 1981. Now, at 38 I'm suffering with alot of pain.(sciatica, hip and knee pain, muscular pain... the works!) I've tried epidural injections to no avail, and now it looks as if I will probably end up with revision surgery to fix my flatback syndrome. Is there anyone out there who has been through all of this? I have so many questions and concerns and would be so grateful if someone could share their experiences in this department with me. Also, I live in the New York area and would like to get more Dr.'s opinions before I schedule this surgery. Any reccomenations of Drs. in the New York area? Guest guest
You should definately check out Dr. Ohenaba Boachie at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York CIty. I live on Long Island and go to him. He performed my revision surgery, although not for flatback, but still a very extensive revision surgery. He is the best. His staff is wonderful and the hospital was great. I am sure you will hear other people on this board exclaiming. My daughter was recently diagnosed and I will only bring her to him. Good luck. Any questions, don't hesitate to e-mail. Kathy
Guest guest
--- Thanks to both of you for your input. I just made appointments with both Errico and Farcy in July. I'm actually strangely looking forward to getting their opinions and scheduling some type of surgery...anything to relieve this pain!!! I also did lots of footwork up front and got precert by BCBS here. Guest guest
---Thank you! I just called and made an appointment with Dr. Boachie for mid July. How long ago was your revision surgery, and how are you feeling?
