I've just learned today that I have moderate pulmonary hypertension as a

consequence of my C type scoliosis. What a bummer.

Everyone, unless you have an echocardiogram you will not know if there are

irregularities with either heart or lung. In the UK it is not routine, only

ECG (EKG) is sometimes done, but not the echo. I think that it should be

routine (just like cervical smears) from age 40 onwards.

Muscle spasms

Hi, I'm new to this group. I'm 63 and have untreated thoracic C-curve. No

probs until my thirties, when I had backaches. In recent years, I've had to

sleep on my left side with a pillow wedged under my left side, otherwise I

wake up in pain. Recently, I pulled my left latissimus muscle, probably

doing yoga shoulder stand. Now it spasms painfully when I lie down on my

back. Any ideas on how to relieve this? I have to sleep in a reclined

position in an easy chair. Had x-rays - no fracture. Doctor prescribed

Motrin and Flexeril and moist heat. I'm fine all day, until I lie down. Then

the pain is pretty bad.

Thanks!
