I only recently met with Dr. Glazer but would be interested in what youhear on

him from others. What is the cause of your current problems. Who did your first

surgery?

Hello,

Been a long time since I've posted in this group! It is difficult to sit at the

computer for too long so have not been in communication for years.

Per Dr. Rand and Dr. Glazer I need to have revision surgery (I think that's what

it is called) and be fused from T3 or T6 down to L1. Also once the results of a

myleogram I'll know if some of the lumbar fusions have to be fused again.... and

maybe keep or take out the illiac screws...

I had anterior/posterior surgeries L1 to S1 in 2000. My spine has developed

kyphosis above L1 and my thoracic curve has increased to an intolerable level of

daily pain (despite meds). I have interviewed Dr. Glazer once and am considering

him for the surgery.

I am hoping someone on this list wouldn't mind talking with me via phone, or

chat off line, or online, whichever they are most comfortable with about their

surgical or other experience with Dr. Glazer.

Also, has anyone had any experience with Dr. Wood of Mass General? I was advised

to get his opinion as well.

Thanks for your help,

Hi Sara,

Sorry, couldn't write sooner.... had the CT/myelogram recently.....

The cause(s)are: my Thoracic curve continues to rotate and so this curve above

the fusion has increased and will continue to do so. I am confused about why

I've developed a saggital curve; one theory is that my original fusion (L1 to

S1) should have been extended into some thoracic level instead of stopping at

L1. Hind sight = 20/20.

Dr. Rand did my original surgery. His recommendation is for surgery to T6,

posterior only. Dr. Glazer's rec. is for Anterior/Posterior surgery to T3. I

am interested in his theory so I was really hoping I could communicate with

someone on this list who has already had surgery with Dr. Glazer.

Hope this is helpful,

Hoping I'll hear from a post-surgery patient of Dr. Glazers :)

I have two MRI's next Sat. and then see Dr. Glazer again. Sorry you need more

surgery but hopefully others here will have info to share that will help us

both. I heard Dr. Rand was good also. Sara
