Guest guest
Hi. Was reading the posts on stenosis. Looked it up on line. Read some of the symptoms. My question is this. Our son has severe cerebral palsy. He, even after surgery for a 82 degree fast developing curvature of the spine, has about a 60 degree curvature. He has also now developed crankshaft. My impression is that where the curvature is it can narrow the spine and cause pressure on the spinal cord nerves and they get pinched. He cannot communicate with us so was wondering what the pain would be like. I mean he has discomfort sitting...getting his molded wheelchair this next Friday...but then he's all tweaked and sitting on one butt cheek. A lot of the times we figured he was having some discomfort due to muscle tightness/spasms. Would we even know if he was having issues with pinched nerves? I guess that's something we will have to ask the ortho surgeon in February when she looks him over for the crankshaft and does xrays of his spine/rib cage area.... Like I said...was just wondering if there were some things that might be obvious that would indicate pain related to stenosis. thanks karen
