Numbness in legs

Hello,

I have been having a fairly new problem and was wondering if I can get

some imput before going to my doctor (who at this point will only talk about

surgical options). My left leg is going numb quite frequently. Sometimes

after sitting for a while, but it also does it sometimes while I am standing,

for example cooking or standing in line at the store. As a result of this I

am falling a lot. Does anyone else have this problem??
