Purple Horrid looking feet

Hi, i'm 16 and have CMT, and my feet turn black,

purple and blue when im sitting down or even standing

all the time. My doctors have checked them and they

could not find a pulse, and did a reynauds test and it

came back normal except for my 2nd digit toe on my

left foot ( if that makes any sense? ). Any ways,

they told me not to go around without shoes on ever bc

i have no feeling in my feet, but it really freaks

them out bc of the discoloration of my feet. Does

anyone else have this problem?? i'm on medicine to get

my blood flow going better now even though my

circulation's ok.. If u could tell me what it is ( i

know its pb part of my disease but.. ) i would really

appreciate it thanks !

Just a similar story, when I was pregnant with my first baby my

tummy was crushing an artery when I sat down. I didn't turn

purple I just got very very very swollen. It took me losing a

lot of weight and my uterus going down to get back to normal.

Hi Brittney,

My feet turn purple and blue not black, the doctors say my circulation is

fine. I have been told I have reynauds, by 1 doctor and then another that

says I don't. I have had pretty much every test done, but no explanation

why they turn colors. I also am not allowed to walk barefoot because I have

not feeling in either foot. I took 2 different kinds of medicine for the

discoloration in the feet but they have taken me off both of them because it

was still happening. They upped the dose but it still happened so the 1

doctor said he didn't like me on them because it was causing other problems.

So I'm not much help, about why your feet do this, except that you know

your not alone.

Well it sort of sounds like the whole deal with me

having cmt. At first the dr. told me i had it , then

said i didn't , now i have it again... even though

like 7 ppl in my family have it and i have all the

pain and symptoms. i guess doctors just get confused

or don't know what their talking about with some

diseases as well as others. My feet turn purple all

the time but only the tips of my toes turn black

sometimes.. My hands also get really blotchy looking

too and kinda bluish looking too.. i dunno what it is?

Oh well, i can only hope maybe the medicine they put

me on will help but so far i dont really see a change

lol, they're still like all weird looking and always

numb and blue. but thanks though for letting me know

that i'm not like the only person out there with weird

feet lol i'll ttyl
