Guest guest
Hello I wanted to introduce myself to the group. My name is . I am 38 and married w/4 kids. I was diagnosed with CMT1 in early January of this year. I don't normally post a lot on groups, I guess I am rather quiet. However, knowing there are other people who I can relate to has been a blessing. I think I am adjusting pretty well to the diagnosis. In fact, I have a sense of relief finally getting a definite answer. Not knowing was really hard. There is no other family members that I know of who have CMT or any other neurological disorder. I had weak feet/ankles and a bad back my whole life. In July 2002, I was finding that my right hand was not working very well. I had difficulty grasping things and writing, etc.. that was when I went to my GP. After being referred to three other doctors, I went to a neurologist who specializes in muscle diseases. He diagnosed me. I am thankful to have this forum to share/discuss with others dealing with CMT. Thanks,
