Hi, CMT Friends,

I have been " lurking " for a while, but this is my

first post to the group. You guys are so great! I

really like reading your messages.

I was diagnosed with CMT when I was a kid. I think my

family has type 2A, but I can't remember for sure.

I'm a woman in my 40's with moderate toe drop, high

arches, shrinking calves, weak thumbs, and

(fortunately!) very little CMT pain. Of course, I

have to have a banister or somebody's help to climb

stairs, and I am an " ankle-roller " who falls

occasionally.

I use braces to support my wrists when I have lots of

typing to do. I used AFOs in the past, and I'm ready

for another pair. The MDA clinic in my area has a new

neurologist, and I sure hope he has a good

understanding of how to brace the CMT foot...

Thank you to all of you who write messages to share

with the group. It helps me to read your descriptions

of the things that go on with your CMT. It helps me

find words to explain what is going on with my hands

and feet, and you inspire me, as well.
