Numbness in Leg

For the last three years I have had numbness/pain in

my left foot and leg when I stand or walk. Usually

sitting and laying down relieve the problem but not

always. For three years I have tried to find the

cause. My internist says don't stand or walk if it

hurts but get plenty of exercise. The neurosurgeon

said you have a herniated disk at L4S1 but it is on

your right side so it can't be causing problems on

your left side. Come back if you start having

problems on your right side. I sent my xrays and CTs

to Dr Lagrone and he believes the numbness is from the

herniated disk, which is right below my T10-L4 fusion.

So on Jan 14 I go in for revision surgery. None of

these drs commented on my not being able to stand up

straight, even when I asked about the problem. So

hopefully I will stand straight and be able to walk

with out numbness and pain after I recover from the

surgery. I would guess you have some sort of nerve

problem. If you are are actually falling because of

it you need to see a dr ASAP so you don't end up with

other problems, like a broken bone. Hope this

helps....And keep looking until you find a dr willing

and capable of helping you.

Becky
