This might help, once you have designed your label then have them

photo-copied, that normally works. Also you can apply a thin coat of

decoupage modge-podge or varnish over them to make them even more

waterproof. You cannot apply modge-podge or varnish over ink jet printer

labels as it will smudge.

Here, having them photo-copied works out the cheapest route, just

remember you pay per sheet so do try and get as many as possible on one

sheet of paper, and look into the difference in price of A4 and A5

copies

I have been making my own labels and I love the design the problem is they are

not water proof as they are done on my ink printer.

--------------------------

Perhaps you should look into some of the waterproof ink cartridges, or even a

laser printer. You can get a basic black and white laser printer for about

$500, I have a HP laserjet 1200 at work

and it works great. Color Laser printers are more expensive, though.

They both have TONS of clip art images ;o)

I was wondering does anyone on this list have any good clip art or any ideas

for labels for Bath Salts? I made some jars and am trying to make some

labels to hang on them with Ribbon. I am more into the country/primitive

look if possible. Thanks.

I use waterproof labels and design them with Avery Design Pro(free download).

Hi a,

What types of labels are you using, besides gold, are they waterproof?

Are they for an ink jet printer or a laser printer? Also, what type of

printer are you using ink jet or laser? There are so many different

types of labels and printers; I now use only laser and waterproof

labels. Before I got my laser printer I had to spray all my labels with

a clear sealant spray. It worked ok but it is a messy job and not

always waterproof, especially in a steamy and water environment.

Labeling is so vital to a business. There are very strict rules about

labeling for B & B products, making sure you are in compliance is a big

key to being successful; so many people do read labels and if it is not

clear or detailed you could lose a sale. Personally I have not had much

luck with the gold foil labels. The ink, even on a laser printer has

problems, especially with clarity and with small print.

Anyway you can find the clear sealant spray at almost any hardware

store. Just make sure you wear a mask when spraying the fumes are

really bad for your lungs. Also you may need to do a few coats, make

them very light, dry in-between and then apply again. Be aware that the

sprays come in glossy or matte finish so it will affect the gold labels

too.

Hope this helps,

~Jo

Hi a,

I have used Gold Foil Labels in the past without any success on making

them waterproof. I tried the new ink cartridges, I tried spraying them

with clear laquer, I tried everything known to the B & B world without

success. I finally had to give up on them and move on to white and

clear waterproof labels.

I use the Gold Foil Labels on my NON-Bath and Body products without any

running or bleeding problems.

Hope that helps!

I have an inkjet printer. What I do to prevent them from running is I use clear

spray paint

and put a coat on each page. I learned this trick from another forum.

Great tip and it works super.

It take a tad of extra time but it is worth it.

Be sure to do it in a well vented area. I even lay them all down on a clean

piece of

cardboard.

The clear spray paint is a good idea. I have found the labels from

onlinelabels.com

to be very effective, as well. They have " weatherproof " labels for

inkjet printers that are made of a type of vinyl. I really like

them--they just zip through the printer, and are ready to go.

I created a template using InDesign. I make the logo and the basic info

all the same and leave room for ingredients to change and the product info

to change. I then print it on my label machine, one at a time, so there's

no placement issue or the chance of running the sheet thru multiple times

and having a label come off on a roller.

Most labels cost between $0.10 and $0.18 with that being full color label

on glossy water resistant stock. There have been a few labels as low as

$0.03 because they're text only or because the labels are small.

If you're printing out 25 or so labels, $1.17 (which includes postage) is

not a lot for 25 bottles or bars of soap to spend to look professional.

Can I ask what everyones bottles look like? The first one I got had a purple

label, and said HCG Detox. The one I am looking to get now is a tan label that

says hcg 12x 30x 60x. Are these the same thing?

Hi everyone. This is an old question , but I wanted to know if everyone keeps

there Hcg (once it is mixed) for a week, 2 weeks, a month?? How long do all of

you think the product works for, before it loses it strength? Does everyone else

keep it in the refrigerator?

Thanks,
