Guest guest
Sorry I have never had either of these problems and to be honest havent heard of anyone else who has. I understand not going to a doctor. I don't go my self unless I get sick. I have never gone for a "checkup". But if you are worried about these issues maybe you should see a doctor. Have you tried doing a google search to see if you can find any info on it? You might try that. Maybe someone else here will have some useful information for you. ~:~The Personal Touch~:~Tags, Stats, or anything else personalized with your name.Everything here is personalized!http://free.hostdepartment.com/t/thepersonaltouchMy Personal Web Site An update on my progress Well, I've avoided posting because i felt awful when I was down those six pounds in january from 265 to 259. I got on the scale Monday morning and I was 262.0lbs. I knew i wasn't working it. It seems I am dabbling at the gym BUT i have started to go to the pool while I have a 45 minute break when my son is in preschool. I did 10 laps the past Friday and on Monday I did 20 laps. I'm just doing the breaststroke because I did the crawl on one lap and almost felt like I couldn't breath at the end of it. I'm just sticking with the breaststroke coz I can feel the water resistance in my arms. On Monday I also went to the Y to work out for a half hour after I picked up my son. Funny thing about the gym though, I get on the bike there for the cardio part and I can just barely do 10 minutes, it kicks my butt and I'm about dying at the end of it. And my legs will feel SO rubbery. Then I do my strength exercises that the fitness trainer showed me I should do. Like ten different machines with most weights in the 50lb range. I find these easy enough to do and I don't get the feeling that I've done enough. Hard to describe but I keep thinking well that's not too difficult so I guess I won't lose weight. Does anyone feel like this? I mean I have increased the weights on some of them and they are working the muscles and I find them difficult when doing it. It is AFTER that I feel I didn't do enough. My neighbour says it's more that the Adrenaline kicks in and you feel you can/should do more.Anyway, I also had a question for you ladies about menses. I've been around the 260 (and up to 280) for about four years since I've had my son. In the past 3 years I have had TOM about seven or eight times usually going about six to nine months between some and I was wondering becasue of the wieght have any of you lost TOM for long periods of time. FOr those that have successfully lost weight did it return? I know I should go to a doctor and yes I haven't been in these three years. I'm terrifed of doctors. I believe they will find some serious disease. I'm silly really but hey! I am toying with the idea of seeing one in the next month. I was just wondering if anyone else went through TOM disappering? Another issue I have is severe "blackening" of my face. Like the pigment is darker all around and I have heard it could be hormones and such. Anyone had any experience with it? I believe it's called Melasma? Anyway... rambled enough.Jalyn265/262/
Guest guest
Jalyn, I have had that happen to me. Not having my TOM for many months I got scared, because I didn't know why that was happening and went to my woman doctor. She put me on something that started my period, and then after that put me on birth control. I now have TOM regularly every month. I still don't know why I had all those months without it, but now I have it regularly and right this second I wish I would have never gone to the doctor because I am cramping. I didn't have to worry about cramping during the TOM when I wasn't having one. 340/300.8/299Anyway, I also had a question for you ladies about menses. Guest guest
I had that problem. When I was around 250 I would go months without a period. I let that go on for a year or so and then went to the doctor. Well, long story short, because of my family history of cancer and my mother having Uterine cancer, I was instructed that the best thing for me to do (since I wasn't having any more children) was to have a hysterectomy. The doctor told me because of my family history the lack of mensus could be a contributing factor to my own fate. So, I don't know if it would have went back to normal had I lost weight. But I can tell you if you have a family history of cancer (reguardless of what type) then you need to go to the doctor and make sure everything is ok. Hope that helps... probably not. > > Sorry I have never had either of these problems and to be honest havent heard of anyone else who has. I understand not going to a doctor. Guest guest
> I find these easy enough to do > and I don't get the feeling that I've done enough. Why not talk with your trainer about this? Maybe he wants you to start with lower weights (Although 50 pounds doesn't sound low to me, but I have no idea what's a proper weight to use on any gym equipment) and slowly build up muscle mass. Perhaps he felt using anything higher would really be pushing it, cause you great pain and maybe injury, and prevent you from wanting to come back. >In the past 3 years I have had TOM about seven or eight > times usually going about six to nine months between How old are you? If you're over 30 it could be a sign of peri-menopause starting up. Have you had irregularities before you got pregnant? Many larger women do, and in many cases it's a sign of PCOS. A lot of the women here have experience in this so maybe one of them can chime in with better information and sites to visit. I know this one gets recommended a lot: http://www.pcosupport.org/ How long were you breastfeeding, and you still doing it? That puts hormones in a state of flux and can prevent your monthlies from becoming regular while doing it. some and I was > wondering becasue of the wieght have any of you lost TOM for long > periods of time. FOr those that have successfully lost weight did > it return? I know women who were over 300 pounds and their docs told them to lose weight to regulate their periods and although they did lose weight, to varying degrees, they stayed irregular and needed oral hormones to get back on track. I know thin women who were never fat who had irregular periods, both before and after pregnancies, so it's not a size-related disorder, although it is more common in the larger woman because hormones are stored in the fat, something we have a lot of. My own doc told me after my second round of oral progesterone that I could either take the pills for the rest of my fertile life and maybe get regular again, or go off them and live with irregular periods, but getting pregnant again might be difficult. Since I wasn't planning on getting pregnant, I stayed off the hormones. Now I'm in the thoes of peri-menopause. I had a period last March, one again this past November, and now wondering if I'm ever going to get another one. At age 52, I'm more than ready for them to stop. >I know I should go to a doctor and yes I haven't been in > these three years. I'm terrifed of doctors. I believe they will > find some serious disease. Hormone irregularies are routine stuff for those guys. You'll be uncomfortable for the routine womanly exam, but that should be the worst of the visits to get this straightened out. If you're thinking of another pregnancy in the future, you may as well go and find out. >Another > issue I have is severe " blackening " of my face. Like the pigment is > darker all around and I have heard it could be hormones and such. I know with PCOS some women complain of excess facial hair and acne and yes, changes in the pigmentation of the skin, especially on the face. Sounds like you might have PCOS, but only your doctor can tell you for sure and discuss treatment options with you. Sue in NJ
Guest guest
Jayln, If you are sweating and increasing your weight workouts then you are working those muscles. I agree with your friend its the physical high you are getting from exercise. As for te menses, go see a doctor. He/She is not going to hurt you. I've had that problem in the past and have had to be put on birth control just to get my hormones back into order. - Helps protect you from nasty viruses. Guest guest
Hi Jalyn Yes I have trouble with my TOM. It is absent for months and then I get it with vengence and it lasts for weeks. It is so bad that I become anemic and have to take iron supplements. I have been to a doctor and never really got any answers, had all the tests etc and nothing ever showed up. I can not be on birth control pills b/c of my high BP so I just deal with it. My theory is that it is hormonal stuff. I am not a doctor by any stretch but I think that blood sugar and obestiy mess up your hormones. I have read bothe the South Beach diet book and the Sugar Busters book and they really go into detail about how all that works. I recommend them to everyine trying to lose weight especially 100 or more pounds. Suzy ) 265/257/238 ODDAT
Guest guest
Where do you purchase your HCG? I am currently using a pre-mixed and have thought about switching to mix I do myself. I am currently on a 5 on 2 days off. Is that the same for you or do you do HCG shots daily? Do you have any days off?
