My husband gets some of his soapmaking supplies from them. I can't vouch for the quality of any of their ingredients because I haven't used them. They seem geared towards soap-making. But you can't really mess up a plastic pipette. Elise http://www.tambela.com --------------------------------- Everyone is raving about the all-new beta. Found mine at American Science and Surplus.... 1ml graduated serological pipettes...These are way thinner than most eyedropper barrels... At one time they had both plastic and glass.... Last time I was there....they didn't have any.....With them it's a hit or miss thing..... I'm sure they're standard in the industry, and yes, they're numbered backwards.... They were cheap....because I consider them disposable (as does the mfr.)...I bought a supply... I'm usually working with smaller bottles.... I usually cut a pipette into three lengths with the scale on them.....and use the graduations, ignoring the numbering... From back in science class when one had to cut glass tubing.... One makes a scratch on one side with a triangular file..... Then, with both thumbs opposite the scratch, you snap the tube.... If it's glass, you can fire polish the end nicely with a gas stove flame...just rotate until the sharp edges are gone... It's takes a little practice.....and be wearing eye protection when doing this kinda stuff...and the glass does get hot...so beware.... -- W. Oh, I loved that type of scale. All I had to do was lean a teensy bit in one direction and make the numbers go down, lean the other and they would go up - you get the picture. Guest guest
I bought a lovely Sunbeam Scale at Wal-Mart that does decimal weights. It cost me about 20 bucks, hubby had a mild heart attack but I bought it anyway. ~ Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - Wow! Guest guest
I got a Salter, accurate to 400lbs that measures in I think either .2 or .1 increments at Bed Bath and Beyond for $39 (-20% coupon!) Guest guest
Ours is old and we have to keep setting it back to zero and try to place it in the same spot every week. I would like to get a new one maybe down the road a bit as a reward once I show DH that I am actually serious. Robin :-)

Guest guest
I use a food or other stuff scale made by Salter that does both pounds and grams from 0 to 5 g and 0 to 11 pounds that cost me $15 or so on Amazon. It has been more than sufficient for me while on hCG. Guest guest
Holly, I found that the numbers on the scale really got me as well but I also found that if I weight frequently (like every day for a month) and wrote those numbers down, that my body was always 'self adjusting' and a lot of time, despite how I was eating or exercising (the effect of time of month, or a little extra sodium in some beans that caused me to retain water, not drinking enough water some days, etc.) gave me a better focus that my weight wasn't always reflecting how I was doing or how I was feeling. It was easier to let the scale go & not let the number effect me as I know for a FACT now that I've measured for a month straight, that my weight can fluctuate as much a 5 pounds in one week, doing exactly the same thing (diet/exercise). what has worked better for me is doing a weekly measure (hips, waist, arms, thighs, etc.) as I'm not aiming as much for a number on a scale but for the 32 " or under for the waist as Dr. Oz talks about and how I feel in my clothes and my ability to do many physical things that I either can't do now or can't do as well because of the weight.  ________________________________ From: Holly Hoekman <hokey777@...> weightloss Sent: Wed, March 17, 2010 9:58:42 PM Subject: Re: scales  I too am having issues with the " number " on the scale. One week I was feeling really great, everything was well balanced in my head, I was eating right, working out and when I hit the scale I was only down 1/2 pound. Ugh! I reeled and got really angry, lost my focus, and really had some negative emotions surrounding it. So, I've stopped weighing myself. I used to weigh myself once a week every Monday morning (a left over habit from Weight Watcher days). I'd like to have some tools for how to not let whatever the number is effect me. Anyone have a good method? ____________ _________ _________ __ From: frenchneedle <lduguacomcast (DOT) net> weightloss @groups. com Sent: Tue, March 16, 2010 10:09:19 AM Subject: [insideoutweightlos s] scales  Hello All, I am only at podcast 12 or so but wondering if there is any mention of weighing oneself and being less affected by the numbers... thanks

Guest guest
I've had some real scale issues lately, too. Though I'm having the opposite problem--when I see the scale edging down, I freak out. First tool--not weighing. (A few years back, I did the frequent weighing. As Colleen said, you can learn A LOT from that. But it's not the right tool for the job this time. :-) ) I tried a some EFT... which helped. Some.. Even though I'm afraid of success, I still choose to be naturally slender. I think the next approach will be the Conflict Resolution transformative journey. Part of me was saying nah, it's not a conflict, there's a limiting belief somewhere--but this thread is somehow helping me see some of the other things that are going on. Like, if the scale's going down, people start to notice. I don't want people to notice me. Well, it's not that I *never* want people to notice me--but I want to choose when they do! LOL! Hmmmm. Thanks for bringing this up!! ________________________________ From: Holly Hoekman <hokey777@...> weightloss Sent: Thu, March 18, 2010 6:58:42 AM Subject: Re: scales I too am having issues with the " number " on the scale. Guest guest
I was freaking out too as the scale went down, a few weeks ago I put it in the closet and resolved not to weigh in until November. I have a few pieces of clothes of the next few sizes down. I've already gone from a 28 to a 26 and looks like the 26s may be too big by the end of April. I'm kind of excited to see what the numbers will be at the end of November.
