Good luck, n...

I do all of my workouts at home, but I have the big home gym thing that my

husband and I were able to buy before we had kids, while I was still working

outside the home! Thank goodness we did that! I do use dumbbells for

shoulder exercises (I do Arnold Presses), triceps, some biceps, and some

back. I also use them on occasion for calves.

Now, do you mean that you have a bench, bar, and plates for free weights or

just dumbbells? There's a lot you can do with freeweights. And Cardio,

weather permitting, you can go outside with walking/jogging, or do an

interval training-type workout tape.

Anyhow - good luck....keep in touch with the board

n,

I'm in week six now and I have gym membership, but usually only go to

the gym like once or twice a week. I do my cardio on the treadmill at

home and I have " built " myself a home gym piece by piece (two 15 lb

dumbells, two 8 lb dumbells, a bench with a bar and weights).

I actually like working out at home just as well as at the gym because

I'm learning to do lunges and I look goofy! I don't want people

looking at me!

I started at 204 lbs and went down to 198 and now back up to 200, BUT

I'm wearing pants that I couldn't even zip on Day One. And I mean, not

just couldn't zip....the material was no where near touching much less

zipping! I'm going to have to lock up my scale and just go by my clothes!

In many ways free weights are much better than restricting yourself

to machines. I almost never use machines except on some leg work.

All upper body work is only done with free weights. They are so good

to use because they allow for stabilizer muscles to come into play

to help you keep good form. A machine allows the stabilizer muscles

to opt out of the exercise. Don't feel like you are missing

anything major by not using machines.

I have dumbells & small bars with plates. I really need to get a

bench, I was using a footstool....and I broke it!

Which part of WI are you in? I'm in the Hudson area.

Congrats on your marriage.

I'm also starting tomorrow. We'll keep each other accountable.

Good luck,

LOT of people LOAD on what they think is " HIGH FAT FOODS " but in truth they are

carbs, like FRENCH FRIES.

I looked up a list of the highest fat foods and I ate from them: macadamia nuts,

walnuts, Italian Sausage, Bacon, Braunschweiger, Sour Cream, Whipping Cream,

Black Olives, and Cream Cheese.

You can have bread, etc. but realize that what matters is getting that high fat.

When you don't have the high fat, you deal with hunger. I've been watching the

VLOGS here on YouTube for over a year, and so I've watched LOTS of people who

didn't load right and they have problems.

You will HATE the Loading, as after having high fat, you aren't hungry, but I

had 10,000 calories the first day and could only get down 3,000 the second as I

wasn't hungry at all. You can have bacon and eggs and toast with cream cheese,

and you can have Ice Cream, instead of having the whipping cream like I did.

Etc. I'm just saying that I didn't want the carbs and I wanted to see if loading

like I did would work, and it sure did.

>

> I will be starting tomorrow and was wondering if anyone of you had insights on

the loading days. I have read that some people don't think they loaded enough. I

have plans to eat lots of fat and yummy stuff. I will be going into the 500 cal

over the weekend so that I won't be at work. Any thought or insights are

welomed.

Just eat ALL day long! Eat all the fat, sugary, things you want! Eat

till you don't feel like you can eat anymore. It will REALLY help you

in those first couple of days.

Good luck!! It is so worth it!!!!!
