Guest guest
Within the last three months I had to switch to big bulky woolen socks because everything else was cutting into my leg. No bleeding but deep grooves in the pattern of the weave that would not go away for a day or more after not wearing any socks. I found this was actually contributing to my leg pain. Gretchen how do you keep your feet warm with no socks. It's all I can do to keep from wrapping mine in blankets most days just so they are not ice cubes. Even in the summer. My ciculation is fine. Guest guest
Hi All Haven't posted in a while but I've been lurking about : ) With my AFOs socks have been a problem, but in the summer 80+degree weather I wear the women's white, seamless toe, knee high socks from Lands' End. Catalog or internet ordering www.landsend.com In winter 0+degree weather I wear white, over the calf, support socks, 8-15mmHg, from Footsmart. I order them from www.footsmart.com they come in men's sizes too, and white, black, and navy, I believe. My feet are always damp and cold, but sometimes they tell me they're burning up when they feel cold to the touch. In the summer the burning sensation is sometimes intolerable. I read somewhere to try dissolving 12 aspirin in a bottle of mentholated alcohol and swab it on the feet as much as 3X a day, but have not had the weather(in Erie, PA) to try it yet. I hate the way my plastic AFOs feel next to my skin, so I always wear socks. Also, being a 36 yo female, I must keep my legs clean shaven all the time as the stubble causes painful pins and needles sensations all along my legs. Lots of baths and lotion! Hope these thoughts can help. Joyce S
Guest guest
Hi, Joyce, Thanks for your reply. Do you have any trouble keeping your socks up? I ask because my calves are shaped so that there is no bulge to keep the socks up. I'm glad you have started to post again! Happy lurking...
