Guest guest Posted May 10, 2007 Report Share Posted May 10, 2007 We carried syringes and IV infusion and they really didn't look or question, they must see this everyday with diabetics and people with infections. My husband had an infection and did 2 IV's a day, total of 3 hours, the hotel made sure we had a refrigerator. Really wasn't a problem. Guest guest Posted August 15, 2008 Report Share Posted August 15, 2008 The 8 hour car trip should be no problem, just fix up a little cooler with a couple of frozen bottles of water, you could maybe just put in a plastic bag and wrap a couple of towels around it. Do you have any empty vials? I only had to do this once near the end of my treatment, and I had several empty vials, so all I did, in advance, I kept some empty vials in the frig, so the few drops of left over solution might not deteriorate too badly, then I would transfer as much hcg I needed, so I'd have an empty vial at the end of the trip, and I knew I'd come home to the remainder of my supply appropriately chilled. If this is your first vial, or you've been throwing them away as you empty them, then... I would not fill the needles, since the "plunger" would be pulled out for the duration of the trip, and they be out of their sterile packaging. Not sure on a plane with air pressure changing. liquid might be forced out. Are you doing this with a clinic/doctor? or on your own? If you have a doctor's prescription for it, the TSA shouldn't give u trouble. I put ice in a zip lock bag, but left it in my carry on luggage, separate with my baggie of liquids & gels that they want to inspect, and they never found the ice.
