I am on week 4 and so far, no weight loss whatsoevery. I have not broken my plan once! Hi . I too am 5'6 " . When I started BFL eight weeks ago I weighed 152. I now weigh between 150 - 151 depending on when I weigh myself. So you're not alone in not losing scale weight. I would love to be in the 130s but I can't even imagine that knowing that I don't lose weight easily. Like you, I have been seeing changes in my body. I've heard some people say that things really start to become more evident toward the last few weeks. But still you might not see significant pound loss on the scale. It took me a while to get used to that idea. I needed some motivation to make me feel like it was working. I'm sticking to it and you should to. See what happens in a few more weeks. If I can hang in there I might even try to keep this program up after the initial 12 weeks and see if I can continue to make progress or if I just plateau. It's hard to tell when you plateau when the progress is very slow as it seems to be for me. Perhaps it's because we really don't have that much to lose. Guest guest
I agree that it depends on how much you have to lose although others may argue that. I think it also depends on your habits pre-BFL. I was on a lo-cal/low-fat/high cardio diet that was successful for many years however in the past year felt I wasn't as toned (most likely due to muscle loss). This is week 11 for me and I've actually gained a couple lbs and haven't loss inches. I contacted EAS and they explained that people switching from a diet/exercise routine like mine usually don't have the best results on BFL so they suggested upping the cardio. They also said that my body's initial reaction may be weight gain because I previously consumed under 1000 cal/day. They said that it may take 12-24 weeks for my body to get over the initial shock and that I'll be healthier in the end. Since I'm already at week 11 I've decided to stick with it for another month or so. I'm hoping that I'm going to start seeing some fat loss soon. But I can definitely tell I am stronger. - -- In , srkearns@a... wrote: > In a message dated 3/3/2004 7:20:28 AM Eastern Standard Time, > writes: > Hi everyone! Guest guest
Yes, that's totally normal. If I had a nickel for every woman who posted that she hadn't lost scale weight at 4-5 weeks, I could buy one of those snazzy new video iPods. :-) Be sure to check out the BFL Lady Success document in the files section: /files/ It's a collection of posts from women who didn't start seeing results until 6-8 weeks into their challenges and then WHOOSH! Major changes. Also go back about 7 days to read the thread " I don't get it - body fat percentages " which is where all of us talk about how late in our challenges we saw results. posted these spectacular photos: http://www.bodyforlife-tracker.com/showphotos.cfm?id=15160 Notice that at 4 weeks it didn't look like one single thing was happening, but by the end, she had such a dramatic transformation that she's a top finalist in the 2005 BFL challenge. Who knows, she may still win it all! And it's only because she didn't quit at around 4-5 weeks when the scale was hardly moving and the results seemed slow. Also, check out Hussman's excellent article: You Really Do Change From the Inside Out http://www.hussmanfitness.org/html/TSInsideOut.html He explains exactly what's happening on the inside (lots!) and why it's not always apparent at first, things like losing intramuscular fat. And then there's: The 4-Week Freak Out http://www.skwigg.com/id40.html Why the Scale Lies http://www.skwigg.com/id12.html And if you feel like maybe you're stuck because you're doing something wrong or could be doing something better, check out: Uh-Oh, a Plateau! http://www.skwigg.com/id66.html Hang in there! If you feel better and your clothes are fitting better, good stuff is happening. On 12/7/05, sondeewatts <sondeewatts@...> wrote: > I have been doing the BFL program for 5 weeks. Guest guest
Many women do not have noticeable weight loss (per the scale) until the later weeks; I lost about 3# in the first 8-9 weeks, and then whooshed down another 7-12# in the final weeks. Check out the document in the group's files, called: <http://f3.grp.fs.com/v1/EBWXQ1rmdPtyGx6nlKipOtNsDxUnL9sQMFNcBA16LmMiiKQWrL\ 4oVgLiCLjWLSyvgqrXGFqwxfu6O7tWdPmcqlXEjB0p99HIAa11l93gyw/BFL%20Lady%20success.do\ c>BFL Lady success.doc ; It's a collection of posts from women who had results late in the program. Feel free to write to me on or off list for encouragement to continue. n T. Age 50 (almost) C2-W2-D3 At 07:18 AM 12/7/2005, you wrote: >I have been doing the BFL program for 5 weeks. Guest guest
I agree, Bonnie, the weight is just a symptom of a much larger problem, and we all have different reasons (and solutions) to overeating. Hopefully, each of us will find our own path. Even if you don't drop a single pound does not mean that you haven't gained anything from 's podcasts. Even those us who HAVE lost weight may not be any further along our paths than the people who haven't dropped an ounce. I know that my journey didn't begin here, and it's not going to end here. It's a life-long process of learning. I am not " cured " now that I've lost 52 lbs....I have a lot to learn and so many more things to do with my life. And I have no clue as to what my " soul's gift " is! Bev
Guest guest
I'm on my 7th shot and had shown no weight loss this morning. I'm extremely strict and still weight loss has been super slow and today there was none. My doctor said I should be seeing a few pounds a day at least in the beginning of p2. Has anyone experienced the same thing? any advices? Thank You.
