Guest guest
Hi, ! Potato slices can sometimes work wonders, as can cold, wet tea bags or even (especially) chamomile teabags. For an inexpensive (but not homemade) remedy, I've found St. Ives cucumber stress relief gel to be as good as most eye gels out there (which means it helps a little but not as much as I wish it would) but it costs less than $5.00 for about a year's supply of the stuff, which is reasonable IMHO compared to half an ounce for $50 or more like some eye gels I've seen advertised. Also, I've found that a little bit of exercise in the morning helps - if you like to jog, or do brisk walks or aerobics, maybe you could try to do that early in the morning before you go to work at home or outside of the home...some people have advised sleeping with your head elevated, and cutting back on salt to avoid water retention to avoid puffiness. Also, some eye creams, if you put them on at night and if they are really rich and emollient, can actually make your eyes puffier in the morning! Guest guest
Leora, excellently put, I couldn't have said it better myself. I have puffy eyes too, the Prep H did nothing for me. the cold cucumber slices help temporarily but not always. I agree with the morning exercises, I feel that I am much more awake in the mornings that I walk to the bus stop. The cold air helps. Also, to drink plenty of water to help the kidneys do their job and the liver as well to theirs. I have also heard of painting the eye area with eye white, leave it on for maybe 1/2 hour and then wash off gently with tepid water. Its only a temp measure as the real reason eyes are puffy go beyond topical applications. My eyes are puffy and appear swollen due to the orbital structure of the bones in the sinus cavity. They get worse around the menses time of month. Any late nights and excessive intact of coffee, cigarettes will worsen the effect too. One also needs to have /ensure plenty of rest, sleep but not overdoing it as it also leads to puffiness. But definitely every thing else you have stated is spot on. Guest guest
Hi Tracey, Wow, you can add almost anything to M & P the way you would regular soap. You can use oatmeal, ground or unground, first pour a bit of soap on the bottom of the mold then add oatmeal let it set up a bit and then add more, otherwise the oatmeal will float to the top. Silica sand also can be added as an abrasive. Another one to do is in a round mold cut a slice of loofa and then fill in the mold with soap. Colors are endless from just regular food coloring to powdered botanicals. Really your imagination is the limit. Go wild and have fun, Lorraine SPLISH!! SPLASH!! Guest guest
I think what is being requested here is information on the amounts of additives per pound are acceptable/work best? I sure would like this info. esp. working with the opaque soap. There seems to be a lot of info on the clear, but not much on the opaque. Thanks for any help in this area. Guest guest
There are some really good recipes at www.greencottage.com/soap (look under tips and tricks and recipes) for all kinds of various MP soaps. I have also a recipes database at http://www.from-nature-with-love.com although I have not had time to search it yet. Another place is www.hgtv.com/village/villages/crafton/shows (do search for bath products) and I also have gotten some recipes from www.luxurylane.com/thelibrary/recipefiles. I have added oatmeal (fine to med. ground), almonds (fine to medium ground), heavy whipping cream, crushed peppermint leaves, powdered milk (skim or whole), almond oil, caster oil, palm oil, olive oil, beeswax, peach tea bags. You can even add fine sand, ground loofah, finely ground coffee, and on and on. Hope this helps to get you started, Stacey Recipes Could someone PLEESE send me some recipes for M & P soap..I just don't want to melt and pour it..I want to know what can be added besides scent and color, like oatmeal, andmust it be ground up, cornmeal, how much? and what different oils can be added, and how much....THANKYOU Tracey March ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
I would be more concerned with how they handle being offered a volume of food: at office parties, at open houses, at luncheons, snacks etc. Perhaps include strategies for coping at the buffet table. recipes Hello. I am to give a talk next month to the support group for Bariatric patients (pre and post). They have requested holiday info regarding recipes to help them cope with some of the holiday goodies. I am planning on low or no sugar recipes for dessert type items, but any other suggestions? I am a little concerned about the audience not tuning into the fact that sugar free desserts would be okay and have some patients start overloading on these foods. Comments and concerns welcomed! thanks, a a , MS, RD, LD Registered Dietitian/Health Educator Carle Weight Management Center 1802 S. Mattis, Champaign, IL 61821 217-326-1482/kristina.adams@... Guest guest
I would suggest not attending the party hungry. Have something to eat before attending. Also have a strategy/plan--anticipate the eating occasion. Eat small amounts and eat slowly--enjoy the flavor of the food. Enjoy the company--time for people--not just food and drink. Learn to say " no thank-you " when they are finished. Also--don't beat yourself up if they eat more than planned. I find many of the patients feel they have " cheated " and " are bad " if they eat more than planned. Tomorrow is another day to get on track. > I would be more concerned with how they handle being offered a volume of > food: at office parties, at open houses, at luncheons, snacks etc. Perhaps > include strategies for coping at the buffet table. > > recipes > > > Hello.
