Here is a general explanation of Candida....

If you do not have enough of the beneficial bacteria you were born

with, then it is very important to start building that population

back up again with a good probiotic. If you do not have enough of

this bacteria, then your metabolism is slow and your system does not

work as efficiently. Your good bacteria can get " killed off " by

antibiotics, different medications, diet, stress, etc. Then something

called Candida starts growing (yeast overgrowth). If you can imagine

what yeast does for bread...... it does the same thing in the

intestines. We are actually all born with Candida (a microscopic

parasite), but the good bacteria, we are born with, keeps it in

check. When we no longer have enough of the good bacteria, though,

then the Candida starts growing out of control. It can then seep

through the wall of the colon, and go, through the bloodstream, to

other parts of the body causing all kinds of problems.
