Guest guest
I sure hope your thyroid starts working again -- this ain't no picnic.

Now that you mention it, my hypothyroid came after I had my 2nd baby and got worse (after this last one - my 3rd). Before that, I didn't have any symptoms. I really hope your thyroid is working again! Good luck.

Yvette:-)
Guest guest
I am on Levoxyl and Birth Control called Yasmin (Helps you also with the water weight gain when you PMS.) It is new here in the states! It is on the NEWS everywhere as being the first Birth Control that helps with PMS and PMDD!!! It doesn't contain the male hormone Testosterone! I didn't realize the other ones have that! Owww!!!!!!!!!! They have a web site and I researched it and my OBGYN thinks it will be GREAT for ME! We shall see!

I have to go and get the test done (TSH), since my doc switch me from Levorthroid to Levoxyl. I wonder if my Thyroid is going Hyper..hmmmmm. I am up a lot at night, but my heart isn't overbeating, as it was with the Levothroid! Still have the weight though! But since I started the Birth Control pills I am doing a little better!

I am also taking Ritalin for my ADD (I haven't been officially diagnosed yet by an Expert, just my Family Doc.) The Ritalin makes me feel really relaxed during the day, but night time, I can stay up all night! I have been taking 2 mg of Xanax to go to sleep! I was taking 1-4 Ambien, 10 mg, and I didn't remember what I did when I woke up or when I was taking it! Scary!

The new Birth Control or Ritalin or both might be affecting my whole body! What to do????? Yasmin is suppose to help me with my PMS! I have to wait! It has only been a week!

My OBGYN knows the meds I am on, and He stated it will not affect my thyroid, it might help it! Less water retention, and all that good PMS Stuff! LOL!!!

Anyone else on Yasmin and Hypo meds???

Hopeless in NJ

Guest guest
I found out I had hypothyroidism when my 2nd child was 8 months old, he is now 5. When I was diagnosed my doctor reccommended I go off the pill until I was regulated so I did. I then got pregnant with my third child. My husband had a vasectomy so now we don't worry about birth control anymore, thank God because I feel better off of it.

Be well,

Tyra
Guest guest
Tyra and Gang~

I found out I was Hypo last summer when I was in the Hospital with Sleeping Problems and Depression, Anxiety, Migraines with Auras and Panic Attacks! I went off of Ortho Tri Cyclene at the time and felt the worse! The Docs in the Hospital ran all different tests and said my TSH levels where low. I was put on Levothroid and I was feeling a bit better, but strangely I gained weight, lost my job, having problems with my Ex Husband and his wife, and just trying to live as a Single Mother (I have always been a single mom when my Ex husband left me when I was pregnant, but since my son has been diagnosed with ADHD, it has been harder since he is older.) I noticed my symptoms are always worse in the summer. I have no idea why, other than I hate heat!

My son is five and has ADHD and I was just diagnosed with ADD. It is weird looking back in my life, I see myself having it all through school and relationships! Back then ADD/ADHD was never a topic or thought of! Getting older Docs just said oh Depression, and Mental Disorders. But since I have taken my Thyroid and Ritalin, I have felt better, but still can't sleep at night!

Life has been harder for me this summer! I am trying to hang in there! Looking for work has been hard in my area. My son is having a hard time being five between me and his father. My Ex and his wife are trying to get custody of our son because my Ex is angry and was ordered to go to Anger Management Classes but refuses too! So, we will be going to court soon! It has been H*LL! I have a great Boyfriend, but Mentally I can't think, do, or want to improve anything at this time! I don't consider myself depressed, since I know how that feels, I just consider myself dealing with all the stressors of life and all the added things that is going on in my life at this moment! I have to wait. I am trying to get help, but having a hard time getting a Therapist appointment. That is why I joined a lot of Support Groups! I need to talk or chat to get on with the days until it is all calmed down.

I have a job interview tomorrow, pray and wish me luck!

Dawn
Guest guest
Hi Dawn....

You poor thing (Sleeping Problems and Depression, Anxiety, Migraines with Auras and Panic Attacks, etc., etc., etc.) - I thought I had it bad with the fatigue, weight gain and hairloss. Now I feel like a big baby complaining about my stuff!

Hopefully, things can only get better for you. It's great that you've joined alot of support groups/clubs -- I know that it's helping me alot - hope that you feel the same, too.

Good luck on that job interview tomorrow! Guest guest
WANT TO KNOW SOMETHING? I had my second baby in 1979(yes,he's 22 now) but that's when I had my first " lump " taken out of my thyroid. The surgeon said not to worry, that i didn't need medicine, I had enough thyroid left to work with. Then 8 years later, after another child I get another " lump " and guess what -it's the other side of my thyroid and it's cancerous!! - - -is it hormonal or what?? Noone would answer me with my questions. I don't think they knew. - - - mickianne
Guest guest
Man, what is the damn connection?!? Has to be hormonal, right?!? Sheesh -- wish someone had answers for us. I know that before having kids, I was " normal " . That's not saying I'm sorry I had them -- jeez, they're my saving grace (all 3). Also, they drive me nuts... but we won't go there. LOL!

Yvette:-)
