Guest guest
Hello everyone, I joined the group awhile back and introduced myself then. Briefly my name is Sharon. I have had a RNY 5.5 years ago. I never lost all my excess weight and started gaining weight back due to an enlarged stoma. I went in for a revision and woke with a band. The band was never discussed prior to surgery so no time for me to research it any. I was banded over my RNY on Dec 5th. I found out I have the INAMED Lapband 10cc. I go for my first fill on Jan 22nd. I asked about the floura <sp> and was told they don't use that process. Should I be concerned? I've been reading the recent posts..Is there a starting point for all Dr.s to follow as far as fills go? Are they all the same or decided by the Dr?What should I expect? 1 cc maybe for the first fill? I also asked the Dr. about slippage and was told that it was being held in place by sutures. Is that common? Why do others talk about slippage if the band is secured by sutures? Sorry if these sound like ignorant questions but like I said I never had time to research.I appreciate all the help I can get. In preparation for my revision I was placed on a 2 week liquid diet and then after the band was on two weeks more of liquid. During that time I lost 15 pounds. After the two weeks I started with regular type soft foods and have not lost any weight. I have no fill so I guess I shouldn't expect much...or should I? My intake is less and I have lost some inches but no more weight lose..After my fill would a 1-2 pound weight lose per week be about average? One more question... I have had/have chronic gastritis. I have been taking nexium for several years to prevent the chronic gastritis. I also get erosive esophagis at times. I notice the topic of Motility on the board. Will my current condition get worse now that I am banded? I don't understand to much on this topic but with my previous history I wonder if I will be prone to get the Motility... Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions? Thanks again for all the help.. Happy New Year to all Sharon S
