Seattle Bash Party! (cross post long)

This year I would like to try out a new format for the Saturday

night event at the Seattle Bash – An Enchanted Evening. For those of

you who were at the TJ Bash in September – it was a great evening

event with lots of interactive events like dancing, photography,

slide shows and awards and I would like to model our evening in this

format.

So – I need all of you to help– something you can do from your

computers that will really add spice to the evening! Also if you

want to be involved more hands on – please let me know we can use

all the help we can get!

First – awards! I would like suggestions on awards and nominations

for these awards! From serious to funny – let's hear them! Please

respond to me with these and I will put them together in a single

post! Some ideas – Best Mentor (by group), Best Post (by group),

Best Success Story (by group), Funniest story (by group) …you get

the idea.

We will also do the group recognition of weight loss – 0-50 lbs, 51-

100 lbs, 101-150 lbs, 151 to 200 lbs and over 200 lbs lost. This is

such a motivation for all of us!

So – as we have a theme for the party - let's do a fancy dress ball

and see where it goes - optional dress of course! This gives you a

chance to dress up if you want – flaunt your new self – and enjoy

being dressed up! I highly recommend this – it is such fun to see

everyone in their fancy clothes and it makes for great photo ops!

Speaking of photographs – we will have a professional photographer

at the Sat night event to take photos – just like in TJ! These will

be modestly priced with a great background of starry night sky and

can be single or groups. More to come on pricing ect.

Slide show – we can get the show from Dr. Kuri that Roxanne did –

but would like to edit to reflect our attendees – so please send me

before and after pics with full name, doctor, date and before and

current weights!

Dancing – I really liked the salsa dancing show and lessons at the

TJ bash and would like to do a similar thing – but with line

dancing. I am looking at places that provide lessons to see if we

can get a demonstration and then a lesson! Anyone have a good

contact?

Karaoke - with a good selection of tunes - and a contest for best

song in a couple of categories – it just wouldn't be bash without

the chance to sing! I think we have a karaoke machine we could use –

and it would be fun to do some Supremes – anyone else want to put

on a sparkly dress and join me?

Of course the auction again this year - limited to about 20 items

with a catalog posted to the website - going for bigger ticket

items. Anyone who might have items for this – please let me know.

I'll try and round up some nice ones - like a night at a condo or

timeshare. Also we still need items for the raffle! This is for a

great cause – the Benevolent Fund! Please look around and see if

there is someone you could ask to donate – or something you might be

able to donate! Let me know – we would love to beat last year's

total!

If we ask nice I am sure we can get Magic tricks by Kuri - wouldn't

be bash with out that!

Last – thoughts on a cash bar? Would it be worth the effort to put

a cash bar in the room? Folks seem to enjoy the option of a

cocktail – let me know!

Other ideas – input would be welcomed! This is your party! It will

be a celebration event with a bit of something for everyone – from

just sitting and chatting with others to strutting your stuff doing

Karaoke or line dancing!

The pool and hot tub will be open late and restricted to just

bandsters and their guests staying at the hotel (thanks Joanne)! It

will be fun to move to an after party for those who want a later

night and louder times!
