Guest guest
Debra, my chiro. told me to avoid dairy as well. I have gone without meat and dairy for about 3 days now. I'm still having pain (I don't know if I would call what I have " attacks " because I have localized pain daily). I'm also very tender to the touch under my rib cage (right side). I really hope this works, because I don't know how much longer I can live with this. I'm actually starting to think having my gallbladder out because I don't know how much longer I can live like this. For a few months I had pain a few times a week. Now I have pain throughout the day every day. I just don't know what to do. Regarding some of these sensations, I was wondering if anyone else had experienced the following: It feels as if my gallbladder is a balloon...like it has blown up. This sensation is all localized - not like normal bloating. And when I laugh it really hurts; even certain ways I move it hurts because it feels like my ribcage is catching on my gallbladder. I know that sounds strange, but it is the only way I know how to describe it. Has anyone else ever experienced this? By the way I was never diagnosed with stones, just sludge. -Ann ----- Original Message ----- From: D B <fairyflight@...> <gallstonesegroups> Sent: Thursday, July 13, 2000 3:29 PM Subject: Re: Six attacks & six flushes in 2 years > <<Does anyone take a pain killer when they get an attack or do you have > the baby natually like I do? << > > I'm sludgey too. Guest guest
Ann- I did have an attack in which an area from under my breast to my leg expanded as if I was going to give birth to an alien as it burst though my stomach. The pain was so severe that I actually thought I would die. I suffered through this pain for about 18 hours. Once it stopped I thought I must have passed a large stone as mine are golf ball size - but I had not. The stone had been lodged in the opening and once I could actually relax and take some cottage cheese with flaxseed oil the duct became more pliable and the stone went back in the sack. By then I had an infection and high fever that worried my doctor greatly. I took it easy and eat fruits, juices and vegetables for a week for the infection to clear up. It was the worst pain I have ever had. Ann, It can take quite awhile to overcome the effects of dairy; in my experience, dairy damages the organs and/or creates a spasticity that prevents the organs from being able to effectively assimilate other foods. Dairy caused me to have a very sore, tender, sort of badly-bruised and swollen, taut feeling all under the rib cage, but worse on the right side. I felt all twisted and lumped up on that right side and it was affecting my posture. My liver felt like it was filled up with cement at times. When it got this bad, attempts at cleansing made it all the worse, and I had to do a long-term, gentle diet, as I've mentioned before, to get relief. I haven't taken any kind of supplements or herbs, and, over the past few months, this whole sydrome has dissipated, and I am comfortable and assimilating all my foods better--minus dairy. On the couple of occassions I tried using some dairy to see how I was doing, the old syndrome started to return, immediately, but it felt like the symptoms were more acute than ever! I know to stay away from it now if I want to continue to improve. The gallbladder plays a role in bringing bile to its ideal concentration. It has an important service to provide, so hang in there! Guest guest
, I had Cheerios for breakfast with a small amount of milk, and half a piece of cheese with lunch. For the first ime all week, I have a tighness under my right ribs. In your experience, can even a small amount of dairy cause pain? Debra, It takes less than the amount of milk that gets put on cereal, even by the most conservative person, to " get my syndrome going " . A teaspoon of yogurt will set me off worse than even milk. I think the tissue damage that occurs in the pancreatic and bile ductal area is drastic, takes a long time to actually heal, and that any repeat offense from ingesting dairy sets the healing back immensely. I truly believe that abstinence from all dairy, religiously, is essential to healing the tissues damaged from its prior use. My reactions to milk in that area of my body take a long time to " clear " , too. Other offenses, such as foods that contain objectionable oils, like mayonnaise, are more readily recoverable. For me, all dairy products are the worst I've ever done or could think of doing to myself. In terms of actual tenderness or soreness, my ductal areas can handle cheese better than milk, but cheese has given me near-syncopal episodes and always, at least, makes me frigheningly dizzy. Dairy has gotten so scarey for me, both short and long-range, that I now strictly avoid it--and attaining the improvement in how I feel and can function has made it well worth it. You might enjoy these reports on milk consumption by " experts " : http://www.notmilk.com/experts.html The fastest assistance in healing the milk-induced liver/gallbladder syndrome, for me, has come from drinking raw apple cider vinegar straight out of the bottle for several days running, with eating only a bare minimum of light, fresh foods at this time. The vinegar felt like Roto-Rooter going to work on the liver, the ductal areas and my brain, all at once. Improved my digestive capacity (for everything but milk, incidentally) dramatically. Guest guest
I'm reading alot about the pain of gallstones, gallbladders, here..which I am familiar with myself.....Well, Last Week I just encountered an opportunity to go to Las Vegas for a few days and didn't want to pass this up. HOWEVER I know BUFFET's are big in Vegas. They are EVERYWHERE! Well, I have just returned from Vegas and Elated to say that I was able to enjoy 1 or 2 buffets daily (never gorging myself) but helping myself to ANYTHING (at least 2-3 bites) on the buffet bar that looked appealing to me, including the dessert bars. Yes, I even had an eclair.....and NO PAIN! I could not have done this without some change in the management of my gallbladder and thankfully that change worked. Not even a dull pain. Here is what I did.....As I am currently on the Chinese Bitters in the morning in preparation for the Gold Coin Grass that will follow, I continued to take the 1 teaspoon of that in the morning. Because the Liver Cleansing Diet book recommends the sunflower seed, almond and flax seed mixture in the diet somewhere, I took a couple little handfuls of sunflower seed/almond (I don't have flax seed yet) in the AM also. However, what made me able to EAT, I believe, was this. 1 1200 mg Lecithin Capsule and 1 1000 mg flax seed oil Capsule taken 2 and/or 3 times a day. I was shooting for 3 times each day, but missed one day and only got two doses each. (Previously I was only taking 1 Lecithin Caplet a day and was having to be VERY careful about food choices). Each evening I took the Coptis as I had been doing in conjuction with the Chinese Bitter (as prescribed by Chang,) but this is part of an ongoing program I was already on and I don't believe this had a direct effect on my new and improved ability to eat the things I ate. Again, I never ate til I was STUFFED or miserable from fullness (even healthy people get the joy of that particular pain) and I only had a few bites of most things...because on Buffets you have SO much to choose from...but I did take samples of ANYTHING, without regard to my Gallbladder. Needless to say, I am so excited that I had the chance to explore the Buffets of Las Vegas also....I wanted to share my success story. Now, it is 3 lecithins and 3 flax seed oil capsules a day for me! (Hope I'm not OD'ing) Oh, and yes, it did turn my stools a much darker brown color. I hope this is okay, too. Guest guest
Have you tried doing an apple juice fast for two days? I couldn't believe how much better I felt after I did that! I was afraid to eat again... cause I didn't want to start hurting again... it was such a dramatic difference. poffs wrote: > > Debra, my chiro. told me to avoid dairy as well. Guest guest
Yes! I have always eaten lots of dairy products... love milk, yogurt, cheese, etc. But after just a few weeks without the dairy products I had cheese one day and I could feel the difference almost right away. Guest guest
, No, I really want to do this...however, I am unable to fast right now due to the fact that I am nursing a baby. I am going to try and find some apple juice at a health food store this weekend just to see if that will help at least some. -Ann ----- Original Message ----- From: Wykes <maryyx@...> <gallstonesegroups> Sent: Friday, July 14, 2000 8:34 PM Subject: Re: going without dairy, plus some questions > Have you tried doing an apple juice fast for two days? Guest guest
I'd have to say........GREAT!
