Guest guest
Hey , For an EXCELLENT tasting protein bar, try Solid Protein S'More flavor or Chocolate Cookie Dough...both are amazing, with 31 grams of protein and 2-3 carbs, 4 grams of fat. A great way to get protein without extra carbs, and it feels like a free day! Another awesome chocolate treat that I like...Optimum Nutition Whey Chocolate Protein...5 lbs for $24, and it tastes amazing. Good luck! The down side is that both Myoplex versions have nearly double the carb count as protein. They make a low carb version but I dont know if that comes in chocolate Fudge and, even if it did, I'm sure it wouldn't taste exactly the same. What I've started to do is use the Chocolate Fudge lite bars and add a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese to balance out the carb/proteins. Of course this only works easily when you're at home and not out on the road somewhere. I hear others talk about some other more balanced bars out there but I haven't tried them. I can't imagine any better than the Myoplex chocolate fudge! Mmmmmm...

I put out a post a few weeks back asking why EAS doesn't just make a bar balanced with carbs and protein as the diet requires instead of making both a higher carb/lower protein and higher protein/lower carb version. Doesnt' make much sense to me. You can always eat a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese to balance out the carbs/protein and get around 30 grams of each for a full sized meal. Guest guest
Well, I agree with all the "YUCKS." Most of the bars taste like metal (to me). The only ones I like are the "Zone" bars, and the Raspberry Frost Myoplex lite. I'd say I go through a box every couple weeks. I am also NOT fond of the Vanilla protein drinks - nope....yuck-o. And, I do make them with ice, cause warm is SUPER yuck-o! When they say "Slam down a protein drink," you HAVE to slam, cause if you actually had to taste it, you'd barf!! a "Attempt the impossible in order to improve your work." - Bette

Stats on the Peanut butter (of course) flavor: Fat 10g, Carbs 2g, protein 21g, calories 270. 90% of RDA vitamins A, C, D, E, B6 and 12. They taste horrible, but I only use them when I have no other choice ... and not more than once a day.
Guest guest
Myoplex low carb bars are pretty good too.......30g protein, 4g carbs, 6g fat. ~~ Try protien Revolution . These are great ! Guest guest
I really like Twin Labs Protein Fuel bars. 35g protein, 12g carb, 5g fat, 320 calories. They are quite large, so I can only eat half at a time, but they are very tasty. Tina

Guest guest
I bought Carb Solutions bars and YUCK!!! I even heated them up (another posted suggestion) but still YUCK!! They have a funky after taste. It was easy downing another glass+ of water after that. Someone ~2 weeks ago posted some recipes for protein bars oatmeal-protein bars and muffins. I tried the protein bars and there are really good. A little dry, but pretty good. My office ate them instead of the Friday doughnut hit. Don't know if anyone else tried them...Dianne

Guest guest
I was just wondering if freezing the some of the bars and eating them frozen might make them more palatable? Guest guest
Andy, Yes I have tried it and liked it. Sometimes I will just chill them in the fridge. I would suspect this would also preserve freshness. But if you freeze them, watch out for the teeth (they can become quit hard).
