Hi!

I am new to this support group as i have only recently been diagnosed

with the above and started levothyroxine just 3 weeks ago. My blood

tests showed that my thyroid is virtually not working - i only went to

the doctors with pain in my arm!!!!

Since i started the medication i seem to my symptoms seems to have

gone worse - I am so tired, lethargic, constipated, my hair and skin

have gone so dry and i don't know what is normal anymore - I am weepy,

driving everyone mad at home......My appetite is awful...I don't know

what to eat or what not too! The doctors don't seem to have any

answers, just that i need to be on this medication and that it could

take six months to get me stabilised! I also have to take

carbamazepine for sleep epilepsy and unknown to me i have since found

out that prolonged use of this medication can stop the thyroid

working - someone failed to tell me that 12 years ago when they put me

on it.

I am hoping that someone can maybe reassure me that all this is normal

and that things get better, are there things i need to know or ask the

doctors...does anyone have any answers

In hope..... Lynette
